On this, the sixty-second anniversary of the infamous day "Little Boy" wreaked its atomic destruction upon the people of Hiroshima, the United States remains the only nation ever to have attacked their fellow human beings with nuclear weapons. In spite of this, American policy makers and the political elite largely maintain a holier-than-thou attitude when confronting nuclear proliferation around the globe.
Those who walk the corridors of power in Washington like to put America on a pedestal-- the usual cliche is that we are the world's police. But are we so benign?
